Two nominations NRP Gulden Feniks
We proudly inform you that de Architekten Cie. is nominated twice for the NRP Gulden Feniks. In both the category Site transformation and Renovation we compete for the prizes. NRP Gulden Feniks is the prize for promotions and inspiration to re-use an existing built environment. In total 11 projects are nominated.
In the category Site transformation, the CHV ground in Veghel is nominated. Old cattle fodder plants of the CHV are transformed into a dynamic second city centre.
Het Breed in Amsterdam-Noord, also know as the Van Gool Plan, is nominated in the category renovation. The five story middle high residential blocks in the middle of a green area were renovated while the characteristic architecture was preserved. The sustainability of the blocks is also enhanced. Counting 1,138 residences and 40 ateliers, Het Breed is the largest utility renovation of the Netherlands. This nomination is a beautiful homage to the architect Frans van Gool, co-founder of the Architekten Cie, who passed away in 2015.
“The jury of the NRP Gulden Feniks has nominated 11 projects from the 81 entries this year for the coveted NRP Gulden Feniks prizes. The categories Transformation and Renovation each have no less than four contenders. Two projects have been nominated in the category Area Transformation. The nominated projects all present the unique possibilities and great diversity of locations that existing properties can offer.
